The Samuel Eells Literary and Educational Foundation (formerly the Alpha Delta Phi Foundation) was founded in August 1961. The Foundation is a corporation that makes grants and loans to chapters, individuals, and educational institutions.

The Foundation funds promote intellectual, educational and literary activities, such as the Seward Scholarships, Annual Literary Competition, and other educational programs.

The Foundation accepts tax-deductible donations from siblings of Alpha Delta Phi and others.

The Foundation is a self-governing 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and is independent of, but in communication with, the Society.
